More than twenty features on one canvas. Plan, write, calculate, read, present and study without switching apps — free, and everything stays on your own disk.
For students, planners, engineers, researchers, writers, founders and more

Thinking, planning, tracking, writing and presenting are the same activity split across half a dozen products that do not talk to each other. Umbra collapses them onto a canvas that lives on your own disk.

Think out loud. Connect cards and the lines follow them, however far you drag either one.
Plan it, map it, track it, write it up and present it — without exporting anything from one tool into another. Every screenshot below is the running application, not a mock-up.
Ask it in plain English. Umbra works through the AI account you already pay for — we never see a prompt or charge for a token.
Ten tools' worth of app, free on the machine you install it on. There is no per-seat AI cost, because you bring your own account. Sync is the only part with a marginal cost to us, so it is the only part that costs anything.
Annual billing only — there is no monthly plan. The licence gates sync and nothing else: no feature your own machine can provide is ever withheld, and the app keeps working offline whether or not it can reach us.
Open a blank canvas, drop in the notes you already have, and add the column, the document or the spreadsheet when you need it. Nothing has to be set up first, and nothing has to move between apps later.
Columns are regions on the canvas, so a card's status is simply where it sits.

Draw frames around what you want to show. The board is the deck, and it exports to one HTML file.

A word processor and a spreadsheet in the same app, editing the .docx and .xlsx themselves.
